VACANCY – IT Officer

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The I.T Officer will be responsible for managing the organization’s internal IT systems, maintaining seamless operations across hardware and software platforms, providing technical support to staff, managing email and data services, designing and updating company websites, and ensuring a secure and efficient IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain company websites ensuring optimal functionality, user experience, and regular content updates.

• Manage website hosting, domain registration, and security certificates.

• Administer company email services, manage user accounts, and troubleshoot email issues.

• Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and other office equipment.

• Ensure reliable network connectivity (Wi-Fi and LAN) and manage IT-related vendor relationships.

• Provide first-line technical support to staff on hardware, software, and networking issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents promptly, maintaining an efficient helpdesk system.

• Implement cybersecurity best practices, including antivirus management, firewall maintenance, and user access controls.

• Perform regular data backups and manage data recovery processes.

• Maintain the security and confidentiality of company and client information.

• Provide user training on basic IT tools, software applications, and IT policies.

• Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Technical Skills Proficiency in website design platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix, basic HTML/CSS, JavaScript familiarity).

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, MacOS), and network administration.

• Knowledge of cloud services (e.g Microsoft 365 administration).

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices.

• Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is an added advantage.

• Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical users.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in a full-time IT support or IT management role.

• Professional certifications are an advantage.
