Job Title: Team Lead, Corporate Banking

Grade: Deputy Manager / Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose:

To lead a team of relationship managers in driving business growth by managing and expanding a portfolio of corporate clients, delivering tailored financial solutions, ensuring portfolio quality, and achieving revenue targets in line with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new corporate clients and deepening relationships with existing ones.

Lead the team in originating and structuring credit and non-credit products tailored to client needs (loans, trade finance, treasury, cash management, etc.).

Monitor portfolio performance to ensure revenue targets, credit quality, and client satisfaction goals are met.

Oversee the preparation of credit proposals, financial analysis, and risk assessments in line with bank policies and regulatory standards.

Serve as the main liaison between the bank and key corporate clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Collaborate with internal teams (Credit Risk, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Operations) to ensure smooth deal execution.

Monitor industry and market trends to identify new opportunities and manage risks within the portfolio.

Coach, mentor, and supervise the relationship management team to enhance productivity and professional development.

Prepare periodic reports for senior management on portfolio performance, risks, pipeline, and opportunities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field/ relevant qualifications.

Experience in corporate banking or relationship management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Proven track record in credit structuring, portfolio management, and revenue generation.
